Tales of Tamriel
These are the stories, long lost in the icy tundra of Skyrim. forgotten in the mountains of High Rock, even buried in the deserts of Elsweyr; Discovered after generations of being covered in dust, guarded by beasts, thought only of legend. They have been brought here, so all can learn of the truths that once were folktale. But be warned, some stories are better left in the past, for one reason or another...

The path of destiny: Awakening
Sleeping is something I usually enjoy doing, sense I honestly don't have much else to do. I've slept through many things in my life; My widowed mother's death, a brawl in the town square, even slept through most of a dragon attack, till the wretched thing nearly landed on my backside. Even now, asleep after running from city guards, and hiding in a log of all places, I was more than happy to be asleep. Of course, that effect didn't last long. I woke up with a hand grasped around my throat. I tried to fight back, but you try aiming a punch when you've just gotten up. Nevertheless, I was practically torn out of my place of slumber, and tossed to the ground, as if I was nothing but a pile of waste. I finally got my barrings, and saw my old friends that were leading me to jail. Standing next to them was a young mage, someone that they probably enlisted to find me with her expertise. I always respected magic, but not in any way like this. " Thought you could get away from us, huh? Ya' dirty swine!", snarled the "heftier" guard, with a croockedly awful smile on his face. I pointed at the mage and said, raspingly," Her, definetly not, but to get away from you two was easier than fightin' a mudcrab." Again, they didn't like that. The bigger guard walked up to me, and gave a heavy blow with his boot straight into my abdomen. The other pulled me up to his stomach level, and gave a nice swing into my jaw. Blood mixed in with my saliva, as I crumpled to the ground, hardly able to breath. " I think that's well beyond enough", said the mage, looking a bit sick. "I'm only giving him what he deserves", spat the guard. " I ain't seen no one as worthless as this dark elf." Even though I knew that I should really stop talking, I rolled my head over and said, " and I haven't seen anyone who looks like he could out-weigh a giant by such a margin." This really got his nerve. He grabbed my shoulder and pulled me straight up, and plowed me against a nearby tree. " I'm sick of this one. Let's just say to the captain that we found his bloodless body near the vampire caves." He pulled his shortsword out and placed it directly on my neck, smirking and on the verge of slicing my head off. Then, there was a small rustle in the brush. " Wait a sec....there's something in the thicket." The other two were turning around, searching for where the noise came from. "Probably just some deer er' something. Can I please finish this?" This guard really had it in for me. Then, another sound, scattering some birds nearby. " There's definetly someone out there", claimed the mage, " I can feel an aura of it, but it's moving fast and hard to read." The guard dropped me, and walked with the other two. They all had their weapons drawn, scanning the trees for anything. "Who's out there?!?" shouted the guard, "I know your there, come out over here, so we don't gotta hurt ya'." Then, the first guard got hit by....something, I could barely comprehend what happened. He was knocked down and out. The mages' hands glowed bright, a seeming fire spell in order. The other guard was beginning to sweat, but boldly shouted," Where are you, ya' coward? Come out and fight like a man!" Then, the mage was smacked from behind, her fire spell shot off straight into the woods. The guard was really sweating now. He turned around and around, looking for his target. Then, he stopped. He waited a bit, then looked up, just in time for his scalp to me smashed with a plank of wood. He collapsed, and in his place stood a slim, but strongly built person. I couldn't see much, for back was facing me, and he was wearing a beautifully made whtie cape, that blended perfectly with the snow. Then, he vanished again. I was looking straight at him, yet he just disappeared! Then, without warning, something seemed to smack me in the head. The trees danced around me, the snow melded together, and the last thing I saw was a hand, moving toward my face.....
